I am stationed in Germany and have a 89 bmw 320i V6 German spec. I haven't had any issues in the last year or so. Got up to go to work the other morning and it wouldn't start. It just whines and won't turn over. The battery is less than 6 months old. I replaced the distributor cap and rotor and put new plugs in it and still the same. I'm thinking it might be a fuel issue, but I'm hoping not. Prices for parts are kind of steep over here. It only has 140k kilometers (about 87k miles) on it. I tried to listen for the fuel pump 'whine' when i put the key to 'start' but i didn't hear anything. Could be bad hearing or could be a bad pump i guess. Could the filter be clogged enough to make the car not start, or is it definitely the pump? Kind of an odd situation as I haven't had ANY issues with it whatsoever in the last few months. A lot of people i hear about with bad pumps have performance issues and stalling issues before it totally gives out. Any info is greatly appreciated. Russell
