...can't open hood.? Someone said to use a flat head screwdriver through the grill above driver's side headlights. To turn and it should pop open. Tried that , didn't work. Which way to turn? It didn't work when we tried it.There is also the same type bolt/screw on the other side... any other suggestions? Thanks much!

You hit the latch with the screw driver and force it to move to right side. Take look at the picture, and try to visualize what would happen if the cable is pulled.
