I have just purchased a 1997 BMW Z3, and the first time I have tried to get into the car I am unable to open the doors. when I turn the key in the door it seems to unlock but I am unable to open the doors. Any ideas on what I can do to get access into my car

Put the key in the drivers side door turn it right,(clockwise) and hold it there until something happens.
