I have read everything from 5000 to 15000 miles. I am use to changing the oil in my cars at 3000 miles.

dont take ur bimmer to local shops where they put regular oil in your engine, and u have to change them every 3000miles. u might just mess up ur sweet ride. spend the $100 and take it to a BMW Dealership and let them put the real oil a bmw needs(synthetic oil) that last for about 1yr/12,000 intervals on oil changes. take it ONLY to BMW or u gonna waste a good bimmer.

I wouldnt go longer than 3000 miles. If you go longer than 3000 miles the old oil can build up and cause your engine major damage. Change your oil every 3000 miles or 3 months whichever comes first.
