So I have a 2003 z4 2.5L, and the door lock got messed up today.. basically i tried to unlock the car with the keyfob , and only the passenger side unlocked, not the driver side... meaning i had to hop over my door to get in. Everytime i try and press the unlock/lock on the key fob or even inside the car, the driver side lock goes up and then back down, so locking me in/out. What is happening!??!?! help me!!
Okay so i tested it again, and now it works... what happend?? will this happen again/?/

What you need to do is find the electronic lock control system or relay or relays that is more then likely what is messed up on it I bet.Simply bec when you push the unlock button the drivers door lock relay is a bit worn or burnt inside and that causes a bit of a delay then it gets power again and doe's the opposite it then locks the lock.
Keep in mind that a very weak or poor ground going to the devices can cause such problems too, especially inside the door panels bec moister , water etc can and does end up corroding or rusting things.
Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way that is a very common problem on many different makes of vehicles and some might use relays or control modules but none the less a relay is inside the control module anyways lol.Your owners manual and fuse box covers etc should list the electronic door system fuses and devices anyways , their not expensive unless you buy them original then the prices can double or even triple etc.
