Hi, I hope you can help me....

The brake warning light came on so I booked the car into the garage. After inspection they replaced both front and rear pads and sensors saying both were worn, the car has 70,000 miles and this is the second set of pads now. After test driving the car, they noticed the warning light was still on and said it could only be the handbrake brake pads and now want to charge another £140 to replace those.

From researching, it seems that most people say handbrake pads never need replacing and I am fearful that this is un necessary work.

The brakes now feel very spongey also and I don't recall this from when I last had them replaced, is this normal??

Thanks in advance!
