View Full Version : what is the difference between BMW 525TD and 525TDS (1995)? pgx30 10-23-2007, 12:30 AM ie turbo, power, etc eidos 10-23-2007, 12:32 AM t=turbo d=diesel s=sport The s model should be nicer to drive but heavier on diesel Damio 10-23-2007, 12:33 AM there is none powerwise just styling EvelynThe ModifiedDog. 10-23-2007, 12:33 AM TD is basic TurboDiesel with 115bhp ( should be a ball in a 1500kg 5-series!) TDS has intercooler, which ups the power to a dizzy 143bhp.... Even the petrol 520i has 170bhp & still does 30mpg. The E34 type 5-series was a great car, I had a 530i, but they're HEAVY! Either of these old-school Diesel engines will really struggle to shift it, & will sound like a bag of spanners doing it. Richard C 10-23-2007, 12:40 AM tds has an intercooler where as td did not therefore tds was more powerful and much more desirable. Quite possibly the best model in the range. |
