I'd like to retrofit cruise control on my 1-series. Dealers have said its not possible, but of course the parts are available. Anyone know of an expert who could do this work?

I'm also thinking of having this same thing done myself. As you say all the parts are available through your dealer and can be fitted by them. My dealer did say however that as the car didn't come with cruise as standard they will have to reload the cars software to recognise the cruise function and this is where the difficulty can begin as some cars accept the software without problems and other can be a right swine to alter - basically it depends which service technician has the previous experience of doing this as the software can apparently be corrupted (like Microsoft Windows) and take hours if not days to fix. I'm trying to get a fixed price and guarantee of the work before I have it done.
