I am new to this forum ,

I am having a problem with the soft top on my Z3. There are a couple of problems actually. The first one, is you know that wire that runs from the front down the sides (I think they are called "Hold Down" cables) but to be honest I believe they are the only wire/cable that exists in the front sides of the soft top (runs the distance of the windows top). Well, my left one has come undone and is letting air and water into the car. Now I don't know anything about the mechanics of this, but I believe that if it were connected, it would act like an elastic holding the fabric nice and tight onto the window yes?

My question is, at the point where it meets the other metal bit at the rear of the TOP of the window, how can i connect that? :( It looks like a metal rectangle with 2 holes drilled in it, and there appears to be a similar looking arched metal rectangle with 2 pins in it that it could hook onto - but i don't know how? :(

Every night I have to wire up a tarp over the car as I don't have a car cover and so I would really love to know how to connect that - I have scoured google for it but can't find out how so right now the wire with the 2 holes on the metal rectangle is just kinda dangling up there and my window lets air in at the top.

I know this is a long post, but I thought that the expert that might be able to advise on it would want all the facts :confused:
