The car does not overheat while driving, but only when sitting in park for a few minutes. For that reason, I'm guessing it's not the thermostat and that it's likely the fan not coming on. What do you guys think is going on, and what would be possible causes--a sensor? i don't think it's the engine coolant temp. sensor b/c the car does run perfectly otherwise. thanks.
Well, I didn't think I needed to metion that I did check the coolant level--yes, it's full.
and, the temp here is about 50 degrees farenheit...so it's not an issue of extreme heat.
